Travelling to Nesbyen

Nesbyen is beautifully situated in the mountain district between Oslo and Bergen. Imagine drawing a line, curved slightly upwards, between the two cities. That line will pass through Nesbyen 168 km from Oslo and 328 km from Bergen.

To Nesbyen by car
Rv 7 is the most common highway to drive. Here are some examples:
From Oslo, follow E16 to Hønefoss and further on to Nesbyen on Rv7.
From South Norway via Drammen and Vikersund, then on Rv7 from Lake Krøderen.
From Bergen, drive to Eidfjord, over Hardangervidda, via Geilo to Nesbyen on Rv7.          
From Bergen, you can also drive via Voss, over the Hemsedal mountains to Gol and further on to Nesbyen.

Other Roads
From Kongsberg on fylkesvei (County Road) 40 through Nore og Uvdal via Tunhovd (all year). This is also a shortcut from Telemark via Rjukan and over Imingfjell Mountain (open during the summer months and during Easter).
Driving from Sigdal and Eggedal over Haglebufjellet Mountain in Numedal may be a good alternative for those coming via Kongsberg or from South Norway.                                      
From Valdres, the road is open all year over the mountain from Sør-Aurdal (Hedalen and Bagn) to Nesbyen (toll bar).

The bus stop is located centrally by the Shell station in the town centre app. 500 meters from the railway station. Use Nesbyen Taxi, tel. 00 47 32 07 17 10, or make arrangements with your place of accommodation.
